I have been thinking a lot this week, with all the stress in our lives and the weather here. In Hawaii it doesn't ever just sprinkle...it pours buckets and buckets of water. That is our version of Fall and Winter...tons and tons of rain. Lately it seems to be that way in our life. When one thing goes wrong EVERYTHING goes wrong. About a year ago James buick broke down about 45 minutes away from home. Of course I had no idea where to tow it so I had it towed all the way home and had to pay a bundle of money to do that. My mom told me to upgrade my AAA card to be able to tow however far I needed, but did I listen...no. So now a year later the camry dies about 35 min away from home. We find out its going to cost $1000-$2000 to fix and of course that is right as we are paying all our bills, and sending in our tithing. I almost did not give my tithing to the bishop Sunday realizing that this money could help our car be fixed sooner, gave my tithing and said a very very long prayer. Why is it that when something goes wrong it ruins everything and causes so much stress, especially when something church related is involved. It's funny how Satan works. But now we have learned that we can change our AAA card and have our car towed to our home and that james and his friend can fix the car for 3/4 the cost! Experiences like this while being married have done three things.
1. brought us a lot closer realizing how much we need each other to talk to and really work together
2. humbled us into realizing our wants and our needs and what comes first
3. my parents are very smart people, and have become very handy for advice in these areas, as well as most areas when needed!
As much as I complain when it comes to situations like this, I am grateful to be brought back to reality and realize that we can't do it all ourselves and that we can't have our cake and eat it to always!
