one for you, three for me

I have been working on lots of these kinds of projects lately for all the girl birthday parties Brady has been invited to. So now I'm starting on my own stash! I love making a headband for every outfit that our baby girl will hopefully wear (watch, she will hate them and then I'll have wasted LOTS of time!). For now they are fun to make and give as gifts!
Sad that I move in less than 5 days, and I'm working on crafts...obviously you see where my priorities are right?!

Next Child:

Young House Love did a post on how they do this. I want to do this with my next child! How adorable and creative is this! My poor kid...he was treated like my 4th! Check it out here. I love all their creative ideas! Maybe If I ever decide to have another baby I'll do this for myself...except not laying down...how awkward would that be?

Another hobby (sorry husband)

I started with this pattern and ended up with these last night (i did a large cause I like big and comfy and long, but then they were too long and big, next time a medium will do the trick...i got extra fabric to make a baby blanket...i know i'm getting ahead of myself, but I'm so excited!).

I loved sewing. I loved wearing something I made. Usually scrapbooking is just for me and something I will see (cause men could care less about that), but sewing is something I can make and wear all the time! James can't wait for me to make our yearly matching pjs (usually store bought). This is my new found hobby. No wonder so many women do this!

Next week a bunch of us girls are making these! I love freshly picked and want to make their little girl dresses for friends so badly! Here is the tutorial for that! Will be posting pics when we do those!

Feelin crafty lately

Trying to keep busy so I don't get too lonely and miss my hubby too much. Sometimes I want to cry, but staying occupied with things like this helps! I want to make one of these for something, isn't it adorable!!! Get ideas here

Ideas, Ideas

My Mom and Grandma took me to Material Girls Quilts when we were in Utah. I was in love. It was the cutest quilting store I have ever seen, with a ton of great fabrics and ideas. I saw this quilt and was so smitten with it! There are a few quilts I want to do with my moms help this fall, and this is one of them! This is by Acorn Quilts and its called "Who loves you" we have kits available made from the "Whimsy" line by Fig Tree quilts.

Pretty Exciting stuff!

Another thing getting crossed off my list of 101 things to do in 1001 days!

I started learning how to sew last night. Ok. Well I learned how to

- buy a pattern

- take it out of the envelope and read it

- line my fabric up

- pin everything and how to read the pattern

- and cut my fabric out!

Next week we will actually start the sewing process! We are making PJ pants for Relief Society and I'm so excited! I love PJ pants, and I think I have found my new love of crafting! Well, I guess we shall see how my pants turn out before I say that! This is my fabric (flannel), which I bought extra along with another type to make a baby blanket for a friend! Gorgeous isn't it!

A love for pillows

Due to the fact that we are moving next month, and I get a house to decorate (but seriously, on like a $20 budget!). I have been looking at pillows on etsy. Here are a few that I love:

bestill (i love all in their company)

she has them in every state, different colors. I think B's room needs a hawaii one!

willa skye home

james would want these branch handmade

I am starting sewing tonight, which I am stoked about! I'll probably just make some myself (we will see how well I do!), but I do LOVE the cali one and the bike one for sure!

Fathers Day Craft, Giveaway and a whole lot of nonsense!

This week has been so crazy. I feel like till James leaves in t-11 days I'll be running around with my head cut off! Birthday Parties, Activity Day crafts, music practice for Sunday, preparing my Fathers Day talk, packing, Relief Society activity and girls time...

I haven't had time to do this blog! Been taking lots of pictures, but no time to post.

So here is what I have to say...

There is a giveaway on my blog. It's ADORABLE! I wish I could win it and use it for Brady's 2nd Birthday! The girls one is the best. It's Digital Files for a Birthday party and she does a great job. Go check it out and sign up!

Also. I made this with my Activity Day girls. But we just used one big cup instead of 2 small ones and filled them with candy! It was super easy and a lot of fun!

What you'll need:
2 foam coffee cups
5 inch square box (or one cut to size)
Masking tape
1 gold chenille stem
Gold craft paint
Black construction paper, cut to fit on side of box
White paint pen
Scissors
Paintbrush
White craft glue

How to make it:
Turn cups upside down and trim bottom lips to make them flush.
Glue the bottoms of the two cups together.
Tape the square box shut by covering the entire box with masking tape.
When glue on the cups have dried, wrap a piece of masking tape around the middle where the two cups meet.
Cut the chenille stem in half and insert into each side of one of the cups as trophy handles.
Cover cups completely with masking tape.
Paint masking tape on both the trophy and the box gold. Let dry. Write "Awarded World's Best Dad" on the black construction paper with white paint pen. Glue to the front of the box.
Pipe white glue onto the bottom of the cup that does not have the chenille handles. Press onto the top of the box and let glue dry completely.

Exhausted!

Good weekend.

I'm pooped. I wish I could be a stay at home mom so I could sleep when Brady sleeps.
I am jealous of those moms of 1.
Lately I have been going to bed by 9 every night because I'm so tired!

Post from this weekend with lots of pics to come (due to my mom saying "I always check your blog and am always disappointed when it's about you and not brady" thanks for that honesty)

For now, it's about me.

gap has some really great sandals and those slip ons right now. i am loving them!

saw this bedding at crate and barrel, i want it for my guest room. i love it and james actually didn't complain about it having flowers on it.
my gorgeous friend Emilia has become quite the sewer! I think I need to go and take some classes from her! And now she is sewing tons of adorable accessories and clothing items (like this skirt). Check her out!
